white portion is an unusual one — that's the kind of thing you only
notice once the ball is in play.
On the 8 ball that won't come clean: if it's been washed and still
looks dull or yellowed, the problem usually isn't dirt on the
surface. It's the finish itself — years of micro-scratching and UV
exposure, which no cleaner will lift. What works there is a ball
restorer rather than a cleaner; we carry a few under Ball Cleaning
Products. If it's badly yellowed the finish may be past saving, and
since we sell single 8 balls you'd only be replacing the one ball,
not the set.

right restorer or the matching single. And you're right that singles
are hard to find online — that's exactly why we stock them one at a
