For over 80 years, Longoni has represented Italian excellence in billiards. Founded in Mariano Comense, near Milan, Longoni is a family-owned company known worldwide for precision, craftsmanship, design, and reliability. Longoni cues are still produced entirely in Italy under the supervision of the Longoni family and are trusted by many top international players.
Environmental attention, workers’ protection, and a deeply Italian management style give the Longoni brand reliability and prestige. Collaborations with many world champions also ensure constant technical and sporting updates across the product range.
The Longoni Papilio Lux Arcobaleno is a limited-edition Italian-made pool cue butt that represents some of the most advanced Longoni technologies combined with famous Italian design. “Papilio,” meaning butterfly in Latin, is inspired by the elegance and beauty of these flying creatures.
The handgrip is composed of dozens of small pieces of wood, carefully matched using Longoni’s famous marquetry technique. The forearm and lower ring feature precious inlays and unique Longoni ONDA wavy CNC rings on black Ural wood, creating a refined and highly recognizable appearance.
Ural is Longoni’s own branded wood material, made from European hornbeam, a light-colored, hard, sustainable European wood known for stability, durability, and medium-to-high density. Longoni applies an innovative deep staining treatment using alternating pressurization and depressurization techniques, allowing a black ebony-like stain to penetrate deeply into the wood. This process highlights the natural grain and gives the cue a rich, almost black appearance with depth and character.

The famous Longoni ONDA wavy rings are CNC-made and are one of the clear points of originality in Longoni high-end cues. They are made from different materials and shaped to create a distinctive wavy effect. These rings are not only decorative, but also part of the cue’s structure.

The VP2-S joint offers quick locking and unlocking, a firm and secure connection for efficient energy transfer, strong resistance to humidity and wear, and precise butt-to-shaft alignment.

This cue also features Longoni’s HEXA-CORE technology, the latest evolution in the construction technique of Longoni butts. HEXA-CORE combines the silence of the X-CORE metal system and the harmony of the XYLOCORE system, and is mainly used for pool and carom cues.
The component that joins the two parts of the butt is made individually with numerical control from Ergal aluminum and is equipped with grooves to calibrate elasticity and fix the piece mechanically as well as chemically. It is installed more precisely than traditional systems and helps guarantee a long life of the cue.

This cue includes the complete 3Lobite system with a 20 cm Longoni Xtendo extension included.

This version is supplied with the Longoni S30 12.8 mm shaft, part of Longoni’s Stratos laminated shaft line. The S30 shaft is made from 10 slices of hard Canadian maple combined with 10 slices of Balkan hornbeam, creating a strong, stable laminated shaft with higher density.

The S30 is designed for players who prefer a firm, stable shaft with a more solid feel. Its mixed maple and hornbeam structure provides added density and stability while maintaining the consistency and precision of Longoni’s Stratos laminated shaft technology.

The S30 shaft features Longoni’s JBR2 ferrule with high-density G10 support and proprietary low-deflection technology. This front-end construction is designed to reduce cue ball deflection while improving the sound and feel of the hit.

Longoni also uses Vibes-Foam technology near the joint area of its laminated shafts. A long internal hole is filled with special foam to help compensate density, absorb vibrations, improve balance, and enhance acoustic response.

Longoni Stratos shafts are produced entirely in Italy. The wood is carefully selected, dried, stabilized, laminated, and individually checked before final labeling. Each Stratos shaft is uniquely numbered for traceability and labeled with product specifications, including code, name, diameter, and exact weight.

Each cue is hand-numbered and made in Italy by Longoni, a family-owned company known worldwide for premium billiard cues since 1945.
