Championship Challenger Hybrid Worsted Billiard Cloth combines the longevity and performance characteristics of worsted fabric with the controlled playing speed of traditional woolen cloth.
Designed to deliver a balanced playing experience that is neither excessively fast nor slow, Challenger offers refined speed, minimal initial slide and predictable ball response. This makes it suitable for novice players, experienced competitors, leagues, commercial rooms and demanding home installations.
Challenger uses a 75% wool / 25% nylon hybrid worsted blend weighing approximately 10.9 oz/yd² (370 g/m²).
Championship’s specialized finishing processes create a firm playing surface designed for accurate ball roll, consistent speed and dependable control. Championship billiard fabrics are manufactured using precision finishing equipment, including active shearing and vacuum decating, to enhance surface consistency, durability and resistance to unwanted pilling.
The Challenger is designed to withstand hard commercial use while also providing the playing characteristics sought by professional and amateur players. Its combination of durability and controlled speed makes it suitable for home, commercial, coin-operated, league and tournament applications.
Each set is pre-cut for the selected table size and includes the bed cloth plus six matching pre-cut rail pieces. Sizes are available for 7 ft, 8 ft, 8 ft Oversized, 9 ft and 10 ft tables.
For installation, Championship recommends installing the cloth face up. The playing face is identified by a black or yellow line along the edge of the cloth.
To maintain a clean, smooth playing surface and help extend cloth life, brush and vacuum the cloth regularly to remove dust, chalk and lint. The area beneath the rails should be cleaned with a soft-bristled tapered brush.
